The project involves renovating and expanding a series of rural buildings in disrepair. The original farmhouse, stripped of its 1950s alterations, has been restored to its historical footprint and connected to a new extension through a transparent volume. The new structures include a kitchen block clad in cor-ten and an elongated 30°-rotated body containing living spaces, designed to maximize views and create continuity with the landscape.
A new barn, rebuilt parallel to the main building, features cor-ten façades, glazed end walls, and faces an infinity pool finished in emerald-green stoneware. Another outbuilding was demolished and reconstructed to blend discreetly into the olive grove, with glazed façades, reclaimed stone cladding, and sliding wooden shutters.
Interior finishes include travertine floors throughout and heat-treated oak in the bedrooms. Furnishings combine custom pieces with 1950s–60s vintage items, and lighting relies on low-impact LED fixtures.
The project integrates sustainable systems such as rainwater harvesting, a 20 kW photovoltaic installation powering heat pumps, and a solar thermal system for hot water and pool heating. Landscaping includes the planting of over 500 olive trees, an 11,000 m² vineyard, cypress groups, native tree species, and a 700-plant hedge to harmonize the built environment with the surrounding countryside.
